Bakersfield, CA (KTNV) -- Some parents and students are outraged after a rally for seniors at a Southern California high school.
They said a school employee embarrassed several students who are not graduating this school year by calling out their names in front of the entire senior class.
All of the seniors were attending the rally to celebrate the 2014 graduating class. But, as it was getting going, a school employee called out the names of the students who will be repeating next year and asked them to leave.
Student Shae Holtachulte said his brother's feeling were hurt and he came out of the rally crying.
It was a truant officer who asked the kids to leave. He told them to stand up and look at the other students were graduating and see what they were missing.
The school district has issued an apology.
