Report details two Las Vegas police officer shootings
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Two more reports of officers using deadly force last year have been released by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Office of Internal Oversight.
In March of 2012, officers were forced to open fire on Sammie Clay near MLK and Owens. They said Clay shot an 8-year-old, then fired at police before taking his own life.
The use of force report determined, while errors were made in the officers' approach, disciplinary action was taken and the officers went through additional training.
The second report from July of last year involved the shooting of Lawrence Howard, who was caught robbing a 7-Eleven.
Howard pointed a gun at officers, who fired their weapons.
The officers' actions were found to be within policy.
