North Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A newly-released report details what police found when they conducted a welfare check in North Las Vegas and found two bodies in the home.

30-year-old Darius Sorrells has been arrested in the case. He's accused of killing his mother and sister.

On March 31 at approximately 2:30 a.m., officers responded to the 6100 block of Stibor Street for a welfare check. According to the arrest report, family members were concerned about Janice Burden and Natasha Sorrells.

When officers arrived, they found what appeared to be a body wrapped in plastic in the middle of the house.

A second body was found in the bathtub. The legs of the body had been cut off and were later located in the freezer wrapped in plastic. The body also had two large ragged cuts running along either side of the spinal column.

A chainsaw was located in the kitchen. It had been dismantled and appeared to have been recently cleaned. A CSI tech ran a test for human blood on the chainsaw and it was positive.

Officers also found carpet that had been removed from all around the house, black rubber gloves and a sheet of wood with blood on it. They also found an empty bottle of bleach. There was evidence there had been an attempt to clean the kitchen area. There was cleaning equipment and a large trash can in the living room.

Blood was on the tile floor, and blood splatter and hands prints on the bathtub. Blood was on the carpet and couch cushions throughout the house.

Sorrells was arrested on March 29, after attempting to evade officers in a vehicle registered to Janice Burden. During a search of the vehicle, a receipt from Lowe's Home Center for a chainsaw and ear plugs was found. The date was March 28.

A check of the video surveillance of the store showed a subject resembling Sorrells, exiting the store carrying a chainsaw.

When he was interviewed by officers, Sorrells claimed to have memory loss of every moment before his arrest. When they said he was under arrest for the murder of his mother and sister, they said he showed no reaction.

Sorrells faces two murder charges in the two deaths.
