Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A fix is in the works along the Sloan Channel and next week, residents will have two chances to get an update on the work.
People living along the channel started complaining about bugs shortly after water started flowing from a wastewater treatment plant.
Earlier this year, leaders in Clark County and North Las Vegas came to an agreement to build a pipeline above ground to carry treated wastewater from the channel to Lake Mead.
County Commissioners Tom Collins and Chris Giunchigliani will each hold a public meeting next week to discuss that pipeline construction.
Work is set to start early next year.
It could take about a year to finish.
