Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A preliminary hearing date was set today for the mother Juanita Carr who is accused of arson after helping her son and acquaintance torch a van.
Carr will return to court on Oct. 1. Henderson police say that Carr convinced her 11-year-old son to set fire to their van.
Carr says that the van was a lemon and that she was one month behind on payments.
Her son was badly burned during the incident. According to the police report, the boy's shirt caught on fire and he rolled on the ground to put it out.
Unfortunately, he suffered second- and third-degree burns over much of his body.
