Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The Las Vegas Silverado Station Post Office, located at 455 East Pebble Road, will reopen for business on Saturday, July 19.
The retail portion of the station has been closed to the public since July 7 because of a roof fire, water damage and later heavy rains that impacted the interior.
Since then, crews have been cleaning and reconstructing damaged portions of the facility.
A mobile retail van has been at the post office handling many retail transactions. For a couple of days after the initial incident, postal clerks were issuing box mail from the front entrance until the box section was reopened.
There was no impact to street delivery in the surrounding area.
The postal service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses, and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
