Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Las Vegas police have released the mug shot of a man accused of pulling a sword on his mother and holding two others at gunpoint inside a home on Sept. 9.
33-year-old Jason Douglas Robbins is being charged with attempted murder, kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon, discharging a firearm, and possession of a stolen firearm.
According to Robbin's arrest report, police were called to a house on Cobble Creek, near Durango Drive and Edna Avenue, at about 11:30 p.m. Sept. 9.
Upon arrival, they found Robbin's mother in handcuffs and in obvious pain.
Witnesses accounts of what happened vary but Robbins' girlfriend told police that an argument began between Robbins and his mother over her daughter's eyebrow piercing.
The situation escalated and Robbins first threatened his mother with a sword and then with a gun. He then forced his mother, girlfriend and her daughter into a room or a loft area and took away their cellphones.
He also forced his girlfriend to put handcuffs on his mother. When his mother refused to stop arguing, Robbins fired the gun inside the house.
According to the report, Robbins went into a rambling rage for more than an hour, saying he was going to kill himself and his mother.
During the argument, Robbins' dog bit his mother on the hand. She fled to a second-floor bathroom and then jumped out of a window because she feared for her life.
The girlfriend was finally able to get her hands on a cellphone and called police.
Robbins fled before their arrival but they were able to stop him near his home.
The extent of the mother's injuries has not been released.
Robbins is scheduled for a preliminary hearing at 10 a.m. Sept. 26.
