Police release identity of man involved in shootout near Carey and Dolly
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Police have now released the name of a man involved in a shootout with police last Thursday.
Investigators said it all started with a routine traffic stop around 10:15 p.m. near Lake Mead Boulevard and Walnut Road.
30-year-old Joshua Bacharach was said to have fired shots at the police officer and then took off.
The police officer then gave chase.
The pursuit came to an end in the area of East Carey Avenue and Dolly Lane when the vehicle came to a stop. Bacharach began firing at the police officer again.
The police officer returned fire. The suspect then fled the vehicle by foot.
A K-9 located Bacharach in a resident's backyard where he was subsequently bitten by the police dog. He was taken into custody and transported to University Medical Center for the bite.
Bacharach has been booked on four charges, including attempted murder. He is currently being housed at the Clark County Detention Center.
Police have also released the name of the officer who fired shots at Bacharach. Officer Ryan McNabb has been employed with LVMPD since 2004.
McNabb has been placed on a routine paid administrative leave while this case is being investigated.
