Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Police were on the scene of a crash on Sunday morning.

Around 5:23 a.m a male struck the center median and continued to the off-ramp toward Martin Luther King. After the car crashed, the man exited the car and was struck by an oncoming vehicle.

He later lost his leg.

The woman driving the vehicle fled the scene, and the man was taken to University Medical Center in critical care.

Both drivers were suspected of drunk driving.

Police were able to find the vehicle that fled the scene, and the woman was arrested for the hit and run and drunk driving.

The driver of the vehicle that fled may be charged with hit-and-run and suspicion of DUI. The victim that was hit by the passing vehicle is being looked at as a possible DUI.

Several portions of the freeway were closed after this incident.
