Police find body in parking lot near Hollywood and Carey

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Police were on the scene of a homicide on Saturday near North Hollywood Boulevard and East Carey Avenue.

It happened around 8:45 p.m. in a parking lot located on the 6900 block of Appleton Drive.

Responding patrol officers found a man who had suffered an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to UMC Trauma where he died from his injuries.

The preliminary investigation indicated there had been an argument between several individuals in the immediate area prior to the victim being found. Gunshots were heard in the area but not immediately reported.

No suspects have been arrested.

The Clark County Coroner has identified the victim as 25-year-old Eric Rodriguez Ruis. His city of residence is unknown.

Ruis died from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. His death has been ruled a homicide.
