Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Las Vegas police have arrested 36-year-old Jason Samuel Larussa for stealing copper from the U.S. Vets building in the 500 block of East Bonanza Road on July 26.

According to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the crime was witnessed by a local resident. That same person saw the suspected thief the next day in the 2400 block of East Bonanza Road and called the police.

Larussa was arrested on unrelated charges and LVMPD's property crimes detectives assumed the investigation.

As a result of that investigation, they determined that Larussa was involved in the copper theft at the US Vets building.

He has now facing felony charges of theft of scrap metal; buying, possessing and receiving stolen property; and burglary.

He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center.

Anyone with additional information about the crime is asked to call the Property Crimes Section at 702-828-3683 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
