Man arrested after overnight shooting near Tropicana and Nellis

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- One person is dead after a shooting that took place around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Las Vegas patrol officers were dispatched to an apartment complex located in the 5100 block of East Tropicana Avenue to investigate reports a man had been shot.

Arriving officers located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to the Sunrise Trauma Center where he was later pronounced deceased.

The investigation indicated several subjects had been involved in a verbal altercation in the parking lot just prior to the shooting.

As a result of the investigation, detectives arrested 31-year-old Elekana Brown in connection with this incident.

Brown has been charged with one count of first degree murder with a deadly weapon.

According to the arrest report, the victim has been identified as Christopher Randle, Jr.
