Performances of KA resume Tuesday night at MGM Grand
Denise Wong & Katie Crowther
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- For the first time since the tragic death of one of its performers during a show, Cirque du Soleil's KA at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino will return to the stage.
The 7 p.m. performance Tuesday will not feature the final battle scene. That act has been replaced.
That was the scene during which 31-year-old Sarah Guyard fell to her death on June 29.
Details surrounding her fall are still being reviewed.
But after going dark for more than two weeks and evaluating the show, officials with KA have decided it's time to reopen.
The battle scene has been swapped out with a transition artistic scene.
Cirque du Soleil has also modified the scheduled performances of KA to only one show each night.
Regular performances will begin again on July 23.
As for Tuesday's performance, it is being dedicated to the memory of Sarah Guyard.
Fellow performers are also coming together Thursday for a benefit for her family.
Guyard was a mother of two children.
