Pedestrian struck, killed while crossing Boulder Highway
Henderson, NV (KTNV) -- A 75-year-old Henderson man was struck and killed by a car while trying to cross Boulder Highway early Tuesday morning.
It happened around 4:35 a.m. on Boulder Highway between College Avenue and Horizon Drive.
The man was struck by a vehicle driven by a 79-year-old woman from Henderson.
He was not in a marked crosswalk and was more than 300-feet from the nearest intersection. He died at the scene.
The driver voluntarily submitted to blood testing but did not appear to be under the influence of either drugs or alcohol. A preliminary investigation also indicates that speed does not appear to be a factor in this crash.
The man's name has not been released.
Boulder Highway was closed for several hours while crews investigated.
Officers were at this scene investigating, when an officer-involved shooting happened nearby.
