Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A group of celebrity roasters are planning to take the stage next week to poke fun at former Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman.
And, it is all for a good cause.
The Showbiz Roast will take place next Tuesday night at the Stratosphere to benefit the Miracle League of Las Vegas, which lets kids and adults with mental and physical challenges play baseball.
Fifty percent of the proceeds will be donated to the non-profit organization.
Oscar Goodman served three terms as the mayor of Las Vegas from 1999 to 2011. Before being elected to office, Goodman was a defense attorney that often represented individuals accused of being involved with organized crime.
Goodman currently serves as an ambassador for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
His wife, Carolyn, is now the mayor of Las Vegas.
During his interview with Action News, Goodman said that he is heading to New York in a few weeks to talk with Broadway producers about his book "Being Oscar."
He told us that there has been some interest in turning the book into a Broadway show and that he hopes it will be titled "Oscar The Musical."
The roast will begin at 10:45 p.m. in the Stratosphere Theater. Tickets start at $30. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/vegasliveshow or call 702-380-7777.
