Coroner identifies woman killed in Geisha House shooting

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A woman is dead after a shooting early Saturday morning.

It happened at the Geisha House restaurant near 215 and Flamingo at approximately 2:37 a.m.

The LVMPD Call Center received multiple calls reporting a shooting in the parking lot. Patrol officers responded and located two females suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. 

One of the females was transported to the University Medical Center. The second victim, 33-year-old Deanna Serano was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Serano died from a gunshot wound to the chest.

The preliminary investigation initiated by the LVMPD Homicide Section indicates there was a large gathering at a restaurant.

Mug Shots Making Headlines

During the event, the suspect arrived at the party and got into a verbal confrontation with the victim and several subjects present. The confrontation later turned physical in the parking lot. After the fight, the suspect went to his vehicle, drove by the crowd,and fired multiple rounds. As the suspect was leaving, he fired multiple rounds again.

As a result, two victims sustained gunshot wounds.

Detectives have determined that the suspect is 27-year-old Carim Cruz. Cruz is a black male adult, standing 6'2" tall, weighing 165 pounds. He is further described as having black hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen leaving in a dark blue four door Mercedes Benz with Nevada license plates. Cruz should be considered armed and dangerous.

This is the 81st homicide investigated by the LVMPD the 2014.
