North Las Vegas shuts down new skate park for graffiti clean up

CREATED Nov. 7, 2013

North Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Just two weeks after the grand opening, crime is already a problem at the Craig Ranch Regional Park in North Las Vegas.

Vandals have hit the skate park, leaving graffiti on the concrete benches, and on fixtures and walls in the skate park restrooms.

North Las Vegas is shutting the park down on Friday to clean it up, but many skaters feel that's a waste of time.

Joel Maldonado said, "It's not gonna stop. People are gonna keep doing it."

Tarron "Wolf" Whitley added, "It's graffiti. It comes with the culture of skating."

The Craig Ranch skate park is only being shut down for the clean up from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
