North Las Vegas crews respond to vacant house fire
North Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The City of North Las Vegas Fire Department responded to a vacant house fire 3:20 a.m. Sunday morning.
The fire was reported by a number of neighbors and bystanders. Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed heavy smoke and flames coming from the fully involved house.
The firefighters fought the fire from outside the structure initially and then transitioned to an aggressive inside fire attack.
The neighboring residents had some flame extension damage to their home and were able to self evacuate.
There were no injuries of occupants or firefighters reported. The North Las Vegas and City of Las Vegas Fire Departments were able to contain and extinguish the fire within the house of origin in approximately 10 minutes of the first firefighters arrival.
Unfortunately, the residence suffered severe smoke damage and fire damage and is a complete loss.
The cause is officially under investigation. Cost estimates of the damage and contents are approximately $185,000.
