Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A new transit center is now open for business on UNLV's campus.
Wednesday's grand opening also included some exciting new announcements from the Regional Transportation Commission.
The new transit center now provides students and teachers with a quick way to access public buses, but the RTC also introduced some new ways to pay.
The new U-Pass Program is designed to provide attending students and faculty at three major public higher education institutions with discounted travel.
Gov. Brian Sandoval was on hand for the launch and was pleased with the program developments.
The RTC also announced it will be launching a pilot program in the future, which will provide a new payment option.
Transit Tap will allow people to pay electronically with a card that lets riders pre-pay and load transit passes on the go.
