Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- New information has been released on the woman authorities said threw a shoe at Hillary Clinton on Thursday, during her speech at Mandalay Bay.
The Las Vegas Bureau of the Secret Service said 36-year-old Alison Ernst was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. They still don't have a motive for why she threw the shoe.
According to the police report, Ernst passed the security barriers at the convention entrance and proceeded inside. Once inside, she walked towards the front of the conference crowd.
When she was about 60-feet from Clinton, Ernst reached into her purse and pulled out a shoe. The report said she then threw the shoe at Clinton.
The Secret Service said Ernst was detained and interviewed for several hours. They said she's from Arizona and had traveled to Las Vegas.
Clinton was speaking at a recycling convention when the incident happened.
The Secret Service said Ernst was not a registered attendee of the convention, however she was a guest of the Mandalay Bay hotel.
Clinton is expected to return to Mandalay Bay in September. She's scheduled to deliver the keynote address at the National Clean Energy Summit.
