Arrest report provides more details into fatal bicyclist crash
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- There is new information about a crash that left a man dead near Las Vegas Boulevard and Pyle Avenue.
It happened on July 25 around 5:10 p.m.
Police said Kelly Rene Harney initially told the Nevada Highway Patrol a gust of wind caused her to go off the road, hitting and killing Cesar Augusto Flores at Silverado Ranch and Las Vegas Boulevard.
41-year-old Flores was riding his bicycle in the area.
Harney was later arrested for driving under the influence of marijuana. She told the arresting officer she smoked marijuana two days prior to the crash as a "treat" to herself.
A breathalyzer was conducted for alcohol which Harney passed.
There were no other reported passengers in the vehicle.
Harney faces several charges including DUI resulting in death, and failure to decrease speed under certain circumstances.
