Numerous cases of parents leaving their young children in hot, locked cars have shined a spotlight on this dangerous but all-too-common practice.
Police officials in Florida have come up with a new app that might help deter it from happening as often.
It's called "Kid Safe Alert."
The app notifies users if their car hasn't moved for more than 10 minutes, and they haven't pressed the alarm off button.
They said it reminds parents to check their car before they walk away.
