Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- If you worry about violent crime, you might not want to live in Tennessee or Nevada.

Both states top the list of America's most dangerous.

Tennessee is number one and Nevada is number two according to 24/7 Wall St.

It used 2012 FBI crime data to compile its list. Violent crimes include murder, rape, robbery and aggravated assault.

Nevada ranks the worst in the country for robbery, theft of motor vehicles and aggravated assault.

State officials say it is mostly because of the swarms of tourist that visit the state to gamble.

Nevada also has among the lowest high school and college graduation rates.

States rounding out the top five are Alaska, New Mexico and South Carolina.
