Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The Nevada Task Force 1 team was welcomed home by their loved ones on Sunday.

The team was sent to the devastated area of Colorado last week to help evacuate hundreds of people who were stranded.

"I was very nervous. I didn't want him to get hurt," says Barb Moor of her son, who was deployed.

Las Vegas local Natalie Aughenbaugh tells Action News, "I was scared that something could happen to my husband."

Rescue worker Eric Moor hurt his foot while performing a swift water rescue. "I just hit a rock that I couldn't see in the marsh."

More than 80 men and women were sent to the state for flood relief efforts.

The FEMA team responds to major disasters all over the U.S. like Hurricane Katrina and the World Trade Center Attacks.

"I'm very proud of my father," says Lucas Taylor of his father, who was deployed. " He's a hero in my heart and he's a hero in a lot of people's hearts."
