Navdy aims to make roads safer with hologram-style technology

By Rebecca Lewis. CREATED Aug 6, 2014

A fancy new car gadget is hitting the market, and it's supposed to make driving a little safer for all of us.

The Navdy displays critical information in your field of view in a hologram-style fashion. The information seems to float mid-air, enabling the driver to focus on what's ahead in the road.

It’s a device that can be mounted on any car's dashboard and it provides a high-resolution heads-up display that helps you see the road behind it.

The device uses a tiny super-high-quality projector to display the images. It shows things like speed, gas mileage, navigation and much more.

It's also hands free. It just takes a swipe of your hand and a tiny infrared camera recognizes your gestures.

The Navdy will be available next year for $500. You can pre-order it now for just $300.
