Lincoln County, NV (KTNV) -- The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office has confirmed about 40 to 50 cars and a bus were stranded Thursday on U.S. Route 93 between Pioche and Ely in Northern Nevada.

The area was hit by a snow storm around 3 p.m.

Search and Rescue members as well as the sheriff's office worked through the night trying to help stranded motorists to get out.

The efforts continued Friday morning.

All of the stranded motorists have been rescued as of 5:30 p.m. Friday.

A Snowcat was also brought in to provide gasoline to cars that ran out while they sat on the highway during the night.

A local school and fire stations are being used to house and treat the motorists.
