Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A motorcyclist is dead and a driver in custody after an accident on Sahara Avenue, near Las Vegas Boulevard.
It happened around 7 p.m. on Thursday night.
Police say the driver came barreling down Van Patten Street, running the stop sign at Sahara, and cutting off the motorcyclist, who crashed into the side of the car.
The man on the motorcycle was pronounced dead at Sunrise Hospital. He was just 18 years old.
Detectives say the driver of the car took off after the accident. But a good Samaritan saw the whole thing unfold and followed the car. That witness was able to get the driver's license plate and called police.
Las Vegas police officers were able to get the driver's home address from the license plate search. They say they were at his home in the northwest valley when he showed up in his damaged car.
29-year-old Jvon Williams was arrested for felony hit and run causing death and felony DUI.
According to police, the driver has priors for driving under the influence and having his license revoked.
