Motorcyclist killed by alleged drunk driver Monday night identified

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A motorcyclist is dead after being hit by a man accused of driving drunk.

He has been identified as 40-year-old Ian Arche from Las Vegas.

It happened at about 6:05 p.m. Monday.

According to police, a 1994 Ford Explorer was traveling northbound on Pecos Road when the driver attempted to make a left onto Hacienda Avenue on a permissive, blinking yellow arrow.

A 1999 Honda CBD was traveling southbound on Pecos Road and had the green light.

The driver of the Ford failed to yield to the motorcycle. Arche lost control and was ejected from the bike. His body slid under the Ford.

Arche was transported to Sunrise Trauma and pronounced deceased.

41-year-old Francisco Contreras-DeJesus was arrested by police for driving under the influence after failing field sobriety tests. He is currently being held on one charge of felony DUI resulting in death.
