VILLAMOR AIR BASE, Philippines (AP) -- The U.S. is sending roughly 1,000 more troops and additional ships and aircraft to the Philippines to help with recovery from last Friday's typhoon.
The USS George Washington aircraft carrier already is stationed off the coast and helicopters have been dropping food and water over inaccessible areas.
So far the U.S. military has moved about 190 tons of supplies.
