Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A woman is under arrest after her 11-year-old son was injured after setting a vehicle on fire.
According to police, the woman helped her son and another person set a van on fire near Sam Boyd Stadium early Wednesday morning.
The boy was injured by the fire and he was taken to a nearby hospital.
Police say that the boy's mother discovered that her van was missing when she woke up on Sept. 8. She then found out that her son and an 18-year-old acquaintance had driven the vehicle to a remote area near Sam Boyd.
Police say the woman drove the two to a gas station and filled a can up with gasoline. The trio doused the vehicle with gas and the 11 year old set the van on fire.
During the process, he also lit himself on fire.
The mother is being charged with child abuse with substantial bodily harm, third-degree arson and conspiracy to commit arson.
The Associated Press has identified the woman as 30-year-old Juanita Denise Carr.
