Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Just minutes after arriving at McCarran International Airport, Jena Chisholm's mother Tina got the call she had been hoping for.
"Oh my God, Jena where are you? I love you too, Jena."
20-year old-Jena was alive and safe and security was with her at The Cosmopolitan. The family immediately headed there for the long-awaited reunion.
The Kentucky woman, missing since Dec. 19, was located in Las Vegas thanks to her cellphone GPS. But her parents had no contact.
On Thursday, her dog Chamber was found abandoned on the Las Vegas Strip. Jena was spotted a few hours later at a Strip hotel. And later Thursday night, her car was discovered miles away and towed by police. That's when her family rushed to Las Vegas and were reunited. They said she was starving but happy.
Her 16-year old-sister Josie said, "She needs a shower like really bad. It looks like she hasn't bathed the whole time she's been here."
"Security found her sleeping in the garage at the Cosmopolitan. It's a nice garage but not a nice bedroom. She's worn out," said Tina Chisholm.
Tina said Jena lost her phone, keys and her dog when he ran away. Her family said she is suffering from depression.
Tina said, "I feel like she felt if she drove out here it would clear her head and make everything better again."
But Jena may have shed more light to police on why she came here.
"She told me that she wanted to come to Vegas to become a dancer in one of the shows," said Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Lt. Tom Melton.
There are still many unanswered questions but for now the family is glad there's a happy ending.
Her mom said, "I will give her some time to figure out this crazy Vegas story of Jena."
