(KTNV) -- It's traditionally been the man's duty to pick up the check on a date, but are times changing?
Most men wish women would dig into their purse at least once in a while.
About 64% feel that women should split the bill on a date, but they also feel guilty about it. In fact, 76% of those asked in a study say they like when a date kicks in cash but they feel embarrassed about it.
The study, done by Chapman University, says more than half of women do offer to pay but 39% secretly say the men will say "no".
The study also asked when it's appropriate to "go dutch" or split the price.
Some say never; it's a sign that the that the date might be more platonic than romantic. But, in this study, 40% of men and women say by month two it's okay. By month six, 74% of men and 83% of women say it's time to start sharing expenses.
Nearly half of men, (44%) said they would stop dating a woman who never shells out any money.
