Men are bigger babies when sick with flu according to new study

(KTNV) -- Men really are the bigger babies when they are sick. At least with the flu.

Scientists may have figured out why men make wimpy, needy patients compared to women when they are sick with the flu.

It has to do with their testosterone levels.

According to a new report from Stanford University, the higher the testosterone level, the more likely a person's body will not respond to the flu vaccine.

That means that men's bodies don't mount as strong of a defense as womens and they really are more miserable when they are sick.

In short, men have weaker immune systems than women.

Researchers say that men really are suffering and women's immune systems simply are superior.

Of course, it does come at a cost. Women are more likely to suffer from autoimmune diseases such as lupus and Alzheimer's. Men are more likely to have severe cases of viral, bacterial and parasitic infections.
