Mesquite, NV (KTNV) -- A man was arrested in Mesquite after allegedly kidnapping a woman for six months.

On Saturday, Mesquite Police Dispatch received a report of an adult female being held against her will at a local motel.

Officers responded to the motel and located the female victim along with the male suspect, identified as 34-year-old Jason Greniger.

Officers discovered the female had an active protection order against Greniger.

The investigation determined the victim was being illegally detained by Greniger for the last six months, perpetrated through threats of death and physical violence towards her and her family.

Greniger was arrested for felony second degree kidnapping, as well as an outstanding warrant out of Minnesota.

Greniger was transported to the Clark County Detention Center.

He made an appearance in court on Tuesday morning. He waived his extradition and will be sent back to Minnesota to face charges there.
