Mohave County, AZ (KTNV) -- Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested 35-year-old John Seiberling of Golden Valley for fraudulent schemes and theft.

On Oct. 14, deputies contacted a 58-year-old female victim in reference to a fraud incident.

The victim said she and her husband were planning to move to Arizona from out of state. In September, they located a house in Golden Valley listed on Craigslist.

The seller, identified as Seiberling, wanted $3,000 down with monthly payments of $300.

The victim's relatives, who live in Golden Valley, check out the house for them. The victims then accepted the lease agreement.

The victim said when they arrived in town, they went to their house to find out the keys did not work and the house was locked up. The victim attempted to contact Seiberling without success.

The victim had a copy of the lease and contacted the female owner whose name was on the lease. The female owner said she did not give Seiberling, her current renter of her house, permission to sell or permission to change the lease agreement which she has with him.

Deputies were able to track Seiberling down. He admitted to posting an online advertisement to sell the house and he mentioned selling the house a few months ago to the owner. He also said he never told the owner that he sold the house.

Seiberling was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
