Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Locals cut their hair for a good cause on Sunday.
Rio Spa & Salon hosted its annual Cut-A-Thon to benefit Locks of Love.
Donated hair will be turned into wigs and hairpieces for children undergoing chemotherapy.
The event hits close to home for the stylists at this salon.
"We originally got involved with the organization when the granddaughter of one of our team members developed cancer. We wanted to do something to help her and in doing that, we realized we could help so many people with just doing a hair cut that we do every single day," said Sparkle Drebert, manager.
With 22 donors on Sunday, the salon collected more than 50 ponytails with the longest length of donation at 18 inches.
In light of Sunday's event, a donor visited the salon on Monday and donated an additional 29 inches of hair.
If you missed the event, but still want to donate, you can donate at Rio Spa & Salon any day of the year.
