Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A local teen has been sentenced to life behind bars for a brutal murder.
18-year-old Richard Freeman was sentenced to life behind bars for his role in the murder of a Hooters waitress.
Prosecutors said he and another man abducted, raped and murdered Prisma Contreras back in January.
Freeman was also convicted for a botched burglary that resulted in a man's death around the same time.
On Wednesday, the judge expressed the sadness she felt for his parents.
"This is every parent's worst nightmare, that they would have an 18-year-old son who would be, not only arrested in connection with robberies that he was not prosecuted for, but also two brutal murders."
The other man accused in the crime, Gregory Hover, was found guilty but has appealed his conviction.
