Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Some Las Vegas Valley kids showed off their brain power on Saturday.

32 teams from across Nevada gathered at Vegas PBS to compete for the state title in the Nevada Science Bowl and the trip of a lifetime.

Students were quizzed on various subjects including math, science, physics and astronomy.

The top 12 teams win cash prizes for their school's math and science departments.

The top team receives $5,000 and a trip to the U.S. Department of Energy's National Science Bowl in Washington, D.C., in April.

The Meadows School in Las Vegas was the big winner this year.
