Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Less than one month after losing a fellow officer, members of Officer Jesus Magdaleno's California Highway Patrol unit came back in town.
Several members of the Visalia CHP Office suited up for their annual softball tournament.
They said normally Magalendo would be playing right alongside them. But, he was killed Aug. 18 when his truck was carjacked while he and his brother-in-law Brandon Crus were loading luggage following the officer's bachelor party.
Both men were killed when they were thrown from the truck when it crashed at Flamingo and Valley View.
"He's a go-getter, involved in everything, gave 110-percent. So definitely he'd be playing with us, so that gives us a little more umph for us to play and do our best," said Officer Preston Richwine, CHP.
Officers, as well as Magdaleno's family, are planning to hold a vigil at the site of the crash on Saturday evening.
