Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The Lied Middle School teacher accused of inappropriate behavior towards a student was in court Friday.
44-year-old Michael Barclay appeared in Las Vegas Justice Court. He was arrested Wednesday after he surrendered to detectives.
The investigation into Barclay's behavior began several months ago in July. He has been on paid administrative leave from his teaching job since then.
Barclay is being charged with one count of attempted lewdness with a child under 14 years old and attempted seduction of a minor by a person over 21 years old.
The alleged victim's mother found a message to her child on Facebook. After questioning her child, she reported the inappropriate behavior.
Barclay is the second teacher from Lied to be arrested this year. 47-year-old Alphonso Washington was arrested in August for similar charges.
Bail was set for $100,000.
