Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Las Vegas Sands has agreed to pay $47.5 million after failing to report millions of dollars it gained from a gambler linked to drug trafficking.
According to the U.S. Attorney's Office in Los Angeles, the government has also agreed to end a criminal investigation and not seek an indictment.
The probe found a Chinese-Mexican businessman transferred more than $45 million to The Venetian Casino between 2006 and 2007.
He's now facing drug-trafficking charges in Mexico.
Sands has been cooperating with the government during the investigation.
