Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Kyle Canyon residents will be allowed back into their homes on Wednesday.
The Carpenter 1 wildfire forced them to evacuate on July 4.
Many residents didn't anticipate they'd be out of their homes for so long.
Kyle Canyon residents are the last group of people to be returning home. Many are eager to see what damage was done to the area.
The fire came the closest to homes in that area. The only structures that were destroyed were off of Kyle Canyon Road.
Residents need to bring proof of residency to be allowed past Metro's checkpoint and head up the mountain.
As of Tuesday evening, the wildfire was 85-percent contained.
