Kingman, AZ (KTNV) -- William Walton Munger III. 42, was arrested on Monday for felony theft.

An investigation began on Nov. 19 after an attorney with the Shrine Club in Phoenix notified the Mohave County Sheriff's Office about possible fraud in their Kingman-based chapter.

An audit showed unauthorized purchases and withdrawals made by Munger, who was the club's treasurer.

According to authorities, Munger spent approximately $17,000 over a four-year period.

During the investigation, Munger told club officials that he had some of the money he was accused of taking and planned on paying the club back.

Munger was arrested at about 12:30 p.m. Dec. 23 after he was questioned at the sheriff's office. He was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail without incident.
