Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- It's the day kids look forward to all year but it's going to hold special importance to eight in Clark County, who just got adopted Thursday morning.
Some of these kids have spent YEARS without a permanent home. Thursday, their adoptions were made official.
And they're not going to forget what day it happened: Halloween.
That's because Judge Cynthia Guiliani, who finalized their adoptions, dressed up as a fairy godmother.
She says she's granting their wish to find a permanent home and a family to spend all of their other holidays with.
Kids were told they could show up in costume for the ceremony.
And even though this may look like light-hearted fun, for one grandmother who spent more than three years trying to adopt her grandsons and get them out of foster care, this was a serious relief.
This is the second year Judge Giuliani has dressed up like this for Halloween.
She says it's a treat for kids and everyone else in court.
