Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Even though we've just entered the month of August, there is one company that's looking to hire for the holiday season already.
The customer care center for Williams-Sonoma in Summerlin wants to hire 600 workers between now and November. About 150 of those positions need to be filled this month.
The center is based out of an office building near Town Center and Summerlin Parkway. Right now, there are about 500 employees who work there. They take calls from customers who are ordering products from Pottery Barn, Williams-Sonoman, and West Elm.
Troy Thornton, the director of the customer care center, said the fall season is when his crew gets busy.
"So we start hiring now through the season. Halloween is big. Thanksgiving is big and of course, in order to hire 600 people, you have to hire early. It's a five week training for customers service class so it does take a little bit of time to get people in," he said.
Right now, the center gets about 115,000 calls per day. When the holiday season hits, it gets about 250,000 calls each day.
The jobs will pay about $11 an hour. Thornton said, each year, the company keeps on about 150 of its best workers as permanent employees.
