Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- An arrest has been made following the death of a local woman.

On Friday at approximately 6:15 a.m., the Las Vegas Dispatch Center received a call from an unknown male stating a female was dying at an apartment located in the 2600 block of South Durango Drive.

Patrol officers responded to the location and found an unresponsive woman who appeared to have been severely beaten.

Homicide detectives responded and conducted a preliminary investigation.

During the course of the investigation, it was learned the homicide was domestic related and as a result, 36-year-old Marvin Moran was arrested.

Moran has been charged with first degree murder and kidnapping and is being held in the Clark County Detention Center.

The identity of the woman and her cause of death will be released by the Clark County coroner.

This is the 60th LVMPD homicide investigation for 2014.
