Home care provider sentenced for Medicaid fraud
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- 36-year-old Niurvis Rodriguez of Las Vegas has been sentenced to 30 days in jail for submitting false Medicaid claims.
According to the Nevada Attorney General's office, Rodriguez was employed by a home care company to provide care to a Medicaid recipient.
An investigation revealed that Rodriguez was paid for services she did not perform because she had other employment.
In addition to the 30 days in jail, Rodriguez also has to perform 20 hours of community service and pay $1,250 in restitution.
The fraud happened between February 2011 and September 2011.
