Henderson police conduct alcohol compliance checks
Henderson, NV (KTNV) -- Henderson police officers conducted checks of underage alcohol compliance at bars and restaurants over the weekend to help ensure minors are not able to buy alcoholic beverages.
Officers from the community relations unit, with the assistance of underage volunteers, checked 65 bars, restaurants and other establishments where purchased alcoholic beverages were consumed on site throughout Henderson Saturday night and into Sunday morning.
Of the 65 establishments, 59 did not sell alcohol to the underage person.
However, six businesses did sell alcohol to the minor in violation of the Henderson municipal code, which prohibits the distribution of alcoholic beverages to minors.
Included in the 65 businesses checked were 15 establishments which failed in an alcohol compliance check in April. Of those 15, five failed again this weekend.
The business that failed for the first time was: Buffalo Wild Wings on Mall Ring Circle.
The businesses that failed a second time were: Black Mountain Grill on Eastern Avenue, Eldorado Casino on Water Street, Gold Mine Tavern on Water Street, PT's Gold on Bicentennial Parkway and Sunset and Vines on Costa di Lago.
The clerks were subject to a citation for serving an underage person and face a maximum penalty of six months in jail and/or a $1,000 fine.
