53-year-old motorcyclist killed in crash near Boulder and Major

Henderson, NV (KTNV) -- Henderson police were called to the scene of a fatal crash on Thursday evening.
It happened at Boulder Highway and Major Avenue around 7:35 p.m.
Police said a 53-year-old Henderson man was riding a 2004 Harley-Davidson Sportster southbound on Boulder when he ran a red light and hit a 2013 Dodge Avenger, which was headed west on Major Avenue.
There were two occupants in the Avenger. The driver wasn't hurt, but the passenger suffered minor injuries.
The driver voluntarily submitted to blood testing, but police said she did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Police believe the motorcyclist may have been drinking. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said he was wearing a helmet. He was the registered owner of the motorcycle, and did have a valid motorcycle driver's license.
The intersection was closed while crews investigated.
The Clark County coroner will release the man's name after relatives have been notified.
