California storms lead firefighters to rescue people, dogs from water

By Rebecca Lewis. CREATED Mar 1, 2014

Altadena, CA (KTNV) -- Heavy rains have turned parts of California into muddy pits causing mudslides and evacuations.

Several homes have been left a mess in Altadena.

So far, no word of any serious injuries.

Firefighters were called out to save two men and two dogs stranded on a fallen tree.

The water was only waist deep, but it was extremely dangerous because of its speed.

Firefighters gave the men life jackets, then used ropes and an inflatable boat to get them to safety.
